    Support from clinically trained chaplains

    Our chaplains are clinically trained, have master’s-degree-level theological education, and observe standards of practice for use in acute-care settings. Our spiritual care volunteers provide additional support.

    • Education: BA/MA in applied linguistics, Boston University; MA, pastoral ministry, Boston College School of Theology; ministry certificate in field supervision, Harvard Divinity School
    • CPE placements: St. Vincent’s Hospital (Worcester, Massachusetts), Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (Boston), St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center (Boston)
    • Professional associations: Member, Association of Professional Chaplains (board-certified)

    • Professional interests/specialization: Marlene is trained in offering spiritual direction and regularly practices centering prayer and meditation.  She helps facilitate retreats for women in transition from homelessness and substance addiction.

    • Professional associations: Member, National Association of Jewish Chaplains
    • Professional interests/specialization: palliative care, arts/creative expression, mental health, and LGBTQ inclusion. Chasiah is an experienced Jewish educator and has taught adults and children at spiritual retreats, continuing education programs, and congregational settings.
