U.S. News & World Report Names Newton-Wellesley Hospital Among Top Hospitals in Boston and High-performing in Hip and Knee replacement

In the August 2015 issue of U.S. News & World Report, Newton-Wellesley Hospital has been named among the top 10 hospitals in Boston and among the top 11 in Massachusetts. In addition to the regional honors, Newton-Wellesley received accolades from U.S. News as a high-performing hospital in hip and knee replacement. The annual U.S. News Best Hospitals national rankings recognize hospitals that excel in treating the most challenging patients. U.S. News also evaluates hospitals in 16 adult specialties and recognizes regional high-performing hospitals that provide care at nearly the level of their nationally ranked peers. According to U.S. News, only about 15 percent of hospitals are recognized for their high performance as among their region’s best. The Hospital has also been rated high performing in the areas of geriatrics, orthopaedics and urology, as well as hip and knee replacement procedures in the U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals for Common Care ratings. The ratings evaluate more than 4,500 hospitals nationwide on common inpatient procedures and conditions.

This designation indicates that we have met objective, evidence-based criteria that demonstrate reliability in delivering knee/hip replacement, with better overall outcomes for patients.
