An Award-Winning Program

"The staff is very friendly and was very good, booking back-to-back appointments for both me and my husband."
- Grateful patient

Why the Kaplan Joint Center?
Patients of all ages come to the Kaplan Joint Center because they can no longer walk, run, golf, lift their children and grandchildren and do other daily activities without pain, stiffness and loss of flexibility.

Their joints have been damaged by osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteonecrosis, childhood conditions and trauma. Our Kaplan Joint Center team, including surgeons, an internist, nurse practitioners, nurses, physical therapists and other health care specialists, help patients return to their everyday activities and favorite pastimes.

A collaboration of Newton-Wellesley Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital, the Joint Center offers a continuum of exceptional, well-coordinated care. Our surgeons perform a wide variety of surgical procedures for the hip, knee and shoulder, including joint replacement, minimally invasive arthroscopy and revision joint replacement.

Nonsurgical treatments include joint injections, fitness and weight loss programs. We also offer a “prehabilitation” program for people to improve their physical condition before joint surgery.
