Accessing Your Patients’ Results

The Radiology Department has an efficient system in place to quickly and effectively provide access to images and reports for all members of your patient’s health provider team. Results from your patient’s MRI scan are integrated into the Mass General Brigham electronic medical record system.

With a focus on patient privacy, this paperless documentation system allows referring physicians outside Newton-Wellesley Hospital immediate and confidential access to their patients’ records. This technology:

  • Virtually eliminates the need for written charts
  • Reduces errors
  • Provides a smoother transition for patients during their MRI experience

Referring physicians can access their patients’ results and scans directly from their office computer using the Picture Archive Communication System (PACS) — this offers seamless continuity of care for each patient who comes for an MRI scan.
