As a member of Mass General Brigham, we are participating in a Pioneer Accountable Care Organization (ACO) model. This initiative is sponsored by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Innovation Center. The goal of the program is to provide Medicare patients with higher-quality care while slowing increases in the cost of health care. We do this through improved communication and coordination of care among Medicare patients’ providers.
Many primary care doctors affiliated with Newton-Wellesley Hospital take part in this initiative. We have notified Medicare patients of these doctors about the program.
