The Sports Medicine Program at Mass General Brigham offers access to sports medicine clinicians from Newton-Wellesley Hospital who collaborate with clinicians from Mass General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Salem Hospital to bring you fast access to the best care for sports injuries of the knee and shoulder.
We'll schedule you for a same-day virtual visit (in most cases), which you can access from a laptop, tablet or mobile phone. During your appointment, you will speak with an experienced sports medicine practitioner over video who will:
A trained sports medicine practitioner will provide a complete evaluation of your injury and help you understand its urgency and severity. We will offer you quick and convenient guidance for appropriate next steps, which can range from icing, observation and rest, to prescribing medication or ordering appropriate x-rays or an MRI, to getting expedited appointments with one of our sports medicine physicians.
If you prefer an in-person assessment of your sports injury, the Newton-Wellesley Orthopedic Walk-In in Wellesley is available with no appointment necessary. Learn more.
We specialize in virtually assessing and treating sports-related injuries, with expertise in caring for the most common joints injured in sports: knees and shoulders. This includes all injuries to the regions’ bones, muscles, ligaments, menisci, rotator cuffs and kneecaps (patella).
If you’re unsure whether your injury can be evaluated virtually, give us a call, and one of our trained clinicians will help you find the most convenient and appropriate care for your specific situation.
