Newton-Wellesley Hospital is no longer offering Childbirth / Pregnancy Loss Support Groups, effective August 14, 2023.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Please see the list of other community resources below to support you at this time.

  • Licensed mental health counselor, Bridget Glenshaw, with a private practice located in Cambridge specializing in pregnancy loss and related grief.
  • She sees clients both virtually and in-person, and is available for individuals, couples, and children in families affected by pregnancy loss and/or early infant death.   bglenshaw@gmail.com. 
  • Licensed clinical social worker, Andrea Insoft, can assist with referrals and resources   andreainsoft@gmail.com  

Newton-Wellesley Hospital serves a wide geographical area. Here is a listing of some support group resources in that area. Since support groups change over time, please call ahead to get more information. If you are having a difficult time finding a support group or are in need of more resources, please call 617-243-LOSS (5677) and we will try to assist you.

The Compassionate Friends

Assists families toward the resolution of grief following the death of a child and provides information to help others be supportive. This national nonprofit, self-help support organization offers friendship, understanding and hope to parents, grandparents and siblings. HOPE Group - Woburn, MA 

The HOPE Group is a peer-support group for parents who have suffered the loss of a child through miscarriage, stillbirth or neonatal death. For more information, contact Donna McDonnell at 978-663-5477 or Barbara Clarke at 781-369-1750 or visit www.rindyshope.org.

RESOLVE New England - Waltham, MA

Peer-led discussion group on pregnancy loss, offered periodically. Pre-registration is recommended. For more information, email us or call 781-890-2250.
