Cardiac Device Clinic

The Breazzano Cardiac Device Clinic at the Elfers Cardiovascular Center, works in tandem with Massachusetts General Hospital to offer you services after you receive an implantable heart device to support a condition that affects the heart’s rhythm, such as atrial fibrillation or AFib.

Pacemakers

Small devices that are placed in the chest and use electrical pulses to prompt the heart to beat at a normal rate, helping treat an abnormal rhythm.

Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD)

Small devices that are placed in the chest to help treat severely abnormal heart rhythms and prevent cardiac arrest by using electrical pulses or shocks.

Device Checks

Our team of doctors, specially trained nurses, and technicians work together to ensure your pacemaker, ICD, or similar device is working efficiently by using monitors that work in tandem with devices and provide detailed information regarding whether you still have any rhythm complications.

Device Monitoring

Once we know your device is working efficiently, we monitor it through both office visits and remote monitoring from your home to make sure it continues to work well. The remote monitors send our team information by using a telephone transmitter. During office visits, we do more in-depth testing by using specialized equipment to analyze and test your device’s efficiency. The reports are forwarded to your cardiologist for their review.
