Medical emergencies and trauma requiring immediate attention are handled by the Newton-Wellesley Hospital Department of Emergency Medicine, located in the Maxwell Blum Emergency Pavilion, cares for approximately 60,000 patients each year (30 percent are pediatric patients).
Serving Greater Boston communities, The Emergency Department includes 36 treatment rooms in 35,000 square feet of space with both adult and pediatric trauma rooms. To facilitate rapid assessment and diagnosis, the Emergency Department is outfitted with its own diagnostic imaging suite including two digital X-ray rooms, a 64-slice CT scanner and advanced ultrasound scanning capabilities.

For medical emergencies and trauma involving children, we have the dedicated, eight-bed Vinik Family Pediatric Emergency Room, equipped with the specialized equipment needed to care for children. The Vinik Family Pediatric Emergency Room is staffed with emergency medicine physicians specializing in the acute care of infants and children. These physicians are on site 16 hours per day.
Newton-Wellesley Hospital provides free Wi-Fi access in our Emergency Department so patients and visitors can connect to the Internet.
Parking is available in the parking garage located immediately across from the Maxwell Blum Emergency Pavilion. Valet parking is also available.
