Newton, Mass. (November 13, 2019)— Newton-Wellesley Hospital today announced seven new primary care physicians have joined the organization: Brittanie Dillon, DO, DMD, Christine Harrington, MD, Jennifer Schwartz, MD, Jessica Platt, MD, Rana Eletriby, MD, Renee Jacobs, MD, and Whitney Kress, MD. With a growing shortage of primary care physicians expected over the next decade, Newton-Wellesley is proud to bring this new cohort of outstanding PCPs into its community. All physicians are actively welcoming new patients and offering next-day appointments.
“We are excited to welcome these seven new physicians to Newton-Wellesley, especially during a time when access to PCPs has become more limited,” said Michael R. Jaff, DO, President of Newton-Wellesley. “For many patients, a PCP is their first point of contact for most health care services. As a community hospital, we pride ourselves on tailoring each patient’s care to their individual needs and providing them with the highest quality and service. We are pleased to offer our patients varied and convenient primary care options to fit their lifestyles.”
Newton-Wellesley’s primary care doctors provide expert primary care in family medicine, internal medicine and pediatrics, with access to specialty care if needed. They also provide a range of options to fit any patient’s lifestyle – traditional care, membership-based care, virtual health and urgent care – with convenient locations throughout the community.
Brittanie Dillon, DO, DMD, has joined Newton-Wellesley Physicians -- Family Medicine Waltham, focusing on primary care with special interest in oral health, integrative medicine, osteopathic medicine, health and wellness counseling and group visits for weight loss. She chose primary care as her specialty because it provides the ability to get to know patients over time and to be an integral part in helping patients find ways to make time for their health and wellness. She is also trained in dentistry.
Rana Eletriby, MD, has joined Newton-Wellesley Physicians -- Primary Care Wellesley Hills, focusing on primary care with special interest in the whole body, specifically diabetes management, heart health and hypertension. She chose primary care because, as a patient’s first point of contact, she can help strategically determine the best route of care working with a variety of specialties. She truly honors and respects the trust patients have in their primary care doctor.
Christine Harrington, MD, has joined Newton-Wellesley Physicians -- Primary Care Needham, focusing on primary care with special interest in preventive medicine and women’s health. She works frequently with patients of all ages who are suffering from grief, depression and anxiety. She is passionate about helping patients optimize their health and understands that there is no such thing as one size fits all in medicine. Dr. Harrington sees her work as a collaborative process with her patients.
Renee Jacobs, MD, has joined Newton-Wellesley Physicians -- Primary Care Needham, focusing on primary care with special interest in holistic medicine, anxiety, depression and ADHD. She chose primary care because she enjoys providing individualized care based on the specific challenges faced by each patient who walks through her door. She prides herself on being there for her patients, listening to their needs and helping to make a difference not only in their physical health but also in their mental health.
Whitney Kress, MD, has joined Newton-Wellesley Physicians -- Primary Care Wellesley Hills, focusing on primary care with special interest in complex disease management, women’s health and young adult medicine. She chose primary care because she appreciates the wide breadth of medicine she can have an impact on for her patients– from cardiovascular disease, to mental health, to acute injuries, to end of life care. She enjoys working with patients to identify personal goals and optimize their health through a combination of lifestyle modifications and modern medical therapeutics, including pharmacologic agents and procedures.
Jessica Platt, MD, has joined Needham Wellesley Family Medicine, focusing on primary care with special interest in women’s health, reproductive care and pediatrics. She chose primary care because she is passionate about supporting and guiding people through all stages of their lives, from infancy to adulthood. Dr. Platt strives to be a non-intimidating advisor to patients regarding their health -- someone whom they can come to with fears, joys, challenges and successes.
Jennifer Schwartz, MD, has joined the Health Services Staff at Wellesley College as well as Wellesley Family Care Associates. As the Medical Director of Health Services and Sports Medicine at Wellesley College, her primary specialties are sports medicine and eating disorders, with an additional focus on family medicine. Dr. Schwartz chose primary care because she is most fascinated by the diverse health needs of both children and adults.
