NEWTON, Mass. (May, 2016) – Over 650 guests gathered recently at the Westin Copley Place, Boston for the Newton-Wellesley Hospital (NWH) Charitable Foundation’s 17th Annual Gala, raising more than $900,000 to support Newton-Wellesley Hospital’s role as a community hospital delivering palliative care.
The Gala Chairs were Carolyn Beckedorff and Tony DiGangi, Ann and David Ingram, and Rebecca and Steve Sullivan. The evening, designed by Corinthian Events, included cocktails, a silent auction, a live auction, fund-a-need appeal, dinner and dancing. Highlights of the evening included music by the Beantown Swing Orchestra, featuring American Idol finalist John Stevens.
“We are thrilled by the generosity of our donors and attendees. It truly is an astonishing outpouring of support from our community and is a critical part of our ability to continue serving the people who come to us daily for help, “said Joan Archer, President, NWH Charitable Foundation. “Our gratitude goes out to Dr. Julia Ragland, whose compassionate leadership of Palliative Care inspires all of us. Dr. Ragland and her dedicated team make such a positive difference in so many lives.”
Gala Committee In addition to Gala Chairs Carolyn Beckedorff and Tony DiGangi, Ann and David Ingram, and Rebecca and Steve Sullivan, a hard-working and enthusiastic Committee actively gathered auction items, sold tables, and spread the word about the event. The Committee included: Joan Barrett (Wellesley), Sue D’Alton (Newton), Jen Helzberg (Wellesley); Rosie Reyes (Natick), and Minou Palandjian (Wellesley).
