Pediatric Inpatient Care Unit

Newton-Wellesley’s Pediatric Inpatient Care Unit is a bright, cheerful, and welcoming environment for both children and their parents. Pediatric and neonatal physicians are available in the Hospital 24 hours a day, seven days-a-week, and the hospital’s experienced pediatric nurses provide the clinical and emotional care that is vital during a child’s hospitalization.

Pediatric Visiting Hours

All of the rooms on the Unit are private rooms, where parents can room-in 24 hours a day and grandparents are welcome to visit at any time, day or night.

Newton-Wellesley has a full-time child life specialist to help ease the difficulties children experience when hospitalized, and she helps parents understand their child’s special requirements during hospitalization. The Emergency Department also has a child life specialist who provides children emotional support during procedures and helps calm their fears.
