The activities of the Division of Rheumatology involve patient care, medical education, and clinical research. Members of the division perform all outpatient, emergency room, and inpatient evaluations for patients with rheumatic disorders.
Dr. Goldenberg, one of the nation’s experts on fibromyalgia, directs the Arthritis-Fibromyalgia Center, where patients from throughout the United States with fibromyalgia and other poorly understood chronic pain disorders, are evaluated. Dr. Goldenberg has been featured in articles in the New York Times, The Boston Globe, and The New Yorker and has been interviewed on the Today Show. Dr. Goldenberg leads a team that includes members of the Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Goldenberg and members of the Arthritis-Fibromyalgia Center continue to publish clinical research studies.
