Welcome to the Vernon Cancer Center

The Vernon Cancer Center is pleased to announce our expanded collaboration with Massachusetts General Cancer Center as the next step in advancing the expert care we provide in our community. The Cancer Center has facilitated access to great cancer care in a warm, welcoming facility in our community and our medical partnership with Mass General plays an important role in delivering that care. This expanded relationship is part of Newton-Wellesley Hospital’s longstanding goal to provide you with expert clinicians and seamless access to high-quality care.

As of October 1, 2016, Mass General is now providing hematology/oncology physicians, hematology/oncology nurse practitioners and a physician assistant and medical leadership to the Cancer Center. Through this collaboration, we will be able to better integrate our multidisciplinary care team, furthering our mission to offer a patient-centered care model that provides the most up-to-date treatments and addresses patients' and their families' physical and emotional needs. We will also have access to many clinical trials being conducted by the Mass General Cancer Center.

As part of this expanded collaboration, effective immediately, the main number for all services is 617-219-1230. Please use this number to reach our hematology/oncology teams. Integrative Support Services can be reached at 617-831-7430.

The Ladies Knitting Committee, within the Town of Dover’s Council on Aging, is comprised of knitting enthusiasts who started knitting items for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy and babies at Newton-Wellesley back in the spring of 2012.

Hundreds of hats, booties and blankets/shawls have since been knitted “with love” and given to cancer patients and newborn/preemie babies at the Hospital.
