The Division of Pulmonary Medicine and Ciritical Care provides a full range of inpatient and outpatient diagnostic and therapeutic pulmonary services on a 24-hour-a-day, seven-day-a-week basis. The division is composed of practitioners whose expertise covers the gamut of respiratory medicine. In addition to providing primary and consultative inpatient and outpatient care to individuals with the traditional array of respiratory problems, we have expertise in critical care medicine, sleep physiology, environmental and occupational medicine, and allergy and immunology. The division is also affiliated with the Partners Asthma Center.
Members of the division participate vigorously in the medical education programs at Newton-Wellesley, including Medical Grand Rounds, attending on the medical wards and in the Intensive Care Unit, offering an elective to medical residents, teaching physical diagnosis to second-year medical students, participating in multi-specialty clinical conferences, and hosting a monthly pulmonary case conference. Members of the division are frequent recipients of teaching awards from hospital housestaff for their dedication and expertise in medical education. Although involved primarily in patient care and medical education, members also contribute to the medical literature.
