The Office of Research offers a comprehensive Clinical Trials Program to assist investigators and sponsors conducting research at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. Our research spans a variety of therapeutic areas including Cardiology, Emergency Medicine, Gastroenterology, Gynecology, Neurology, Oncology, Orthopedics, Pain Management, Pediatrics, Primary Care, Rheumatology and Surgery.
With approximately 125 active clinical trials, Newton-Wellesley is a site for both outpatient and inpatient studies and has been conducting research for more than 30 years. The Office of Research also provides administrative support to the Hospital's Institutional Review Board, known as the Human Research and Investigation Committee (HRIC).
Our team of experienced research nurses and coordinators assists investigators with all aspects of start-up, coordination and close-out activities associated with clinical trials. Some of their major responsibilities include assisting with protocol submissions, completion of regulatory documents, recruitment, education and enrollment of eligible subjects and execution of protocol procedures.
