Newton-Wellesley Hospital offers urgent care services to residents of Waltham, Newton, Wellesley, Weston and surrounding communities at the Waltham Urgent Care Center.
The Center is located at 9 Hope Avenue, in the Children's Hospital Building and is open seven days a week. Hours are above.

The Urgent Care Center provides unscheduled, walk-in treatment for minor illnesses and injuries that require medical attention but are not life threatening. The Center offers access to physicians and nursing care. With a written physician order, laboratory, X-ray, ultrasound and EKG services are also available. Physician-requested services may be offered at different times than our walk-in clinic hours so please check the hours with your doctor's office.
Conditions Treated at the Center
- Sore throats, coughs, colds and flu
- Asthma, bronchitis and pneumonia
- Vomiting and diarrhea
- Scrapes, lacerations and minor burns
- Earaches
- Sprains and minor fractures
- Muscle aches and pains
- Routine gynecological problems
- Difficult or painful urination
- Minor eye injuries, infections or irritation
- Dressing changes
- Work-related injuries
- Physicals (work, camp, sports)
Holiday Hours
The Urgent Care Center is closed on Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day. On Christmas Eve and New Years Eve our special hours are 9:00am to 3:00pm.
Insurance
In some instances, you may be asked to obtain a referral from your primary care physician for services received at the Urgent Care Center. Insurance co-pays and deductibles may apply.
Transportation
Shuttle service is available to the Urgent Care Center and to Newton-Wellesley Hospital through Suburban Med-Ride. Three business days is often required to schedule a ride. To schedule transportation and to find out rates, please call 1-866-633-7433.
For Emergency Treatment
If you are in active labor or experiencing a life threatening event (including but not limited to chest pain, heart attack, stroke, difficulty breathing or active bleeding) immediately call 911 or go to your nearest hospital emergency department. The Waltham Urgent Care Center is not equipped to handle these types of emergencies.
