Accreditation
Newton-Wellesley Hospital’s cancer program has received the Commission on Cancer (CoC) three-year Accreditation with Commendation from the American College of Surgeons. Approval by the CoC is given only to those facilities that have voluntarily committed to provide the best in diagnosis and treatment of cancers.
This accreditation means that our program offers patients services such as comprehensive care, state-of-the art equipment, a multispecialty, team approach, access to cancer-related information, education and support, and, most importantly, high quality and compassionate care close to home.
The Hospital’s areas of commendation included the National Cancer Data Base submissions, clinical trial accrual (both for trials conducted at Newton-Wellesley and elsewhere upon our referral) and cancer registry staff education.
