Childbirth Education
Our childbirth classes follow the content and time guidelines recommended by Lamaze International and the Boston Association of Childbirth Educators. All of our instructors are certified in their area.

Wellness Center
Our exercise and fitness classes are designed to accommodate various levels and abilities. Instructors are always able to suggest ways of adapting any class or workout to meet your individual needs. Please note you must pre-register to attend a class. You may also register for any class at any time during the session and the price of the class will be adjusted accordingly.

This is a complete comprehensive class, which will help expectant parents through the stages of late pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum.Instructors discuss signs of labor, when to come to the hospital or birthing center, role of the support person and comfort measures such as breathing, relaxation, positions, massage, visualization, hydrotherapy, and anesthesia and analgesia. In addition, birth plans, what to expect if medical interventions are necessary, including induction of labor and cesarean delivery will be discussed. Other topics will be postpartum changes and a pediatrician will do a presentation on the newborn after delivery. A tour of the maternity unit is included. This is always a complete 12 hour childbirth class giving you the opportunity learn about labor and birth, discuss choices and concerns and meet others sharing this special time. Cost of class is for the expectant mom and her partner or labor support person.

The Youngest Siblings: Preparation for Two and Three Year Olds. Children are given a brief tour highlighting the nursery and the new babies, and are shown the postpartum rooms where their mothers will be staying. They are also shown and will get a chance to practice how to safely hold a new baby. An age appropriate story about becoming a big brother or sister will be told and each child will receive a graduation certificate.The class is one hour.

An aerobic class of choreographed dance routines to create a fun workout. Focus is on energy boost, improved heart function and stress reduction. For all ages and abilities, no dance experience required.

This class is for children 4 years or older accompanied by a parent. Through stories, a video/slide show and hands on activities, a realistic view of a newborn's appearance, needs, and abilities will be presented. The special role of the big brother/big sister will be emphasized and a brief tour of the maternity unit will be provided. Each child will make a craft and receive a graduation certificate.

The HypnoBirthing® method, developed by Marie Mongan, is a comprehensive childbirth education class that emphasizes effective birthing techniques to enable you to work with the natural rhythms of your body, facilitating a more comfortable birthing experience and minimizing the need for interventions. This 12+ hour class teaches relaxation and self-hypnosis techniques to release the fear that causes tension and pain and to enhance the release of the body’s own natural anesthesia. Offered weekly or weekends. $210/couple, includes text book and CDs.

This class is for expectant parents who are considering and would like to prepare for an unmedicated birth. Medication and epidurals are covered but the class focuses on other comfort measures to use during labor. The class emphasizes actively coping with labor, and includes time to practice and discuss ways of working with your body to manage your labor. The same material covered in the Prepared Childbirth Class is also covered, including a Hospital tour, medication options, medical interventions such as induction and Cesarean delivery, postpartum changes and the newborn.

Class will cover CPR for the infant from birth to 1 yr of age as well as CPR for the child up to 8 years of age. In addition to teaching CPR and choke-saving skills; this three-hour class will cover the following injury prevention topics: Childproofing your home, product, fire and water safety, home safety supplies, poison prevention, how to choose and use a car seat and toy safety. Whether you are a parent, grandparent, teacher or a babysitter, this single session will provide you with the vital skills that turn a life-threatening situation into a lifesaving one. You will receive the American Heart Association CPR booklet and a class packet.

This course is designed to teach the skills of CPR and foreign body airway obstruction for the infant, child and adult, and provide instruction in the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). This course is appropriate for people whose job requires them to respond to cardiac emergencies. This course is not for health care providers. Participants will receive official certification from the American Heart Association, which is good for two years.

For those who have completed both Reiki 1 and Reiki 2. In this workshop you will deepen your understanding of Reiki. Participants will become attuned to the Reiki Master symbol and learn how to do Reiki treatments using the Reiki Master symbol. Participants will learn how to do Reiki attunements to others and will also learn how to make Reiki water. The important aspects of having a Reiki business will also be discussed. A class designed to help you get breastfeeding your baby off to a good start! The class will cover the structure and function of the breast, proper latch-on and positioning, nutrition, feeding patterns, growth spurts and the pumping and storage of breast milk. Although a natural process, breastfeeding is a learned experience for both mother and baby and classes contribute to breastfeeding success. Meets once.

This course is designed to teach childcare providers and others to respond to illness and injuries for infants, children and adults. First Aid topics covered are wounds, nosebleeds, fractures, poisons,drownings,insect bites, bandages, dressings, use of an epinephrine pen, shock, stroke, head injury and foreign body airway obstruction (choking). The CPR portion will cover CPR/AED for the Infant, Child and Adult. Participants will receive official certification from the American Heart Association in CPR and in First Aid, which is good for two years. This is the American Heart Association course CPR for Family and Friends (Infant and Child). Class will cover CPR for the infant from birth to 1 yr of age as well as CPR for the child up to 8 years of age. In addition to teaching CPR and choke-saving skills; this three-hour class will cover the following injury prevention topics: Childproofing your home, product, fire and water safety, home safety supplies, poison prevention, how to choose and use a car seat and toy safety. Whether you are a parent, grandparent, teacher or a babysitter, this single session will provide you with the vital skills that turn a life-threatening situation into a lifesaving one. You will receive the American Heart Association CPR booklet and a class packet.

This class is for expectant parents who are considering and would like to prepare for an unmedicated birth. Medication and epidurals are covered but the class focuses on other comfort measures to use during labor. The same material covered in the Prepared Childbirth Class is also covered, including a Hospital tour, medication options, medical interventions such as induction and Cesarean delivery, postpartum changes and the newborn.
