Whether you are expecting a baby for the first time or have other children, all parents have questions about birth and caring for their newborn. Childbirth Education classes give you the opportunity to become familiar with the choices you have and will help you make informed decisions about your labor, your birth and your baby.
Our childbirth classes follow the content and time guidelines recommended by Lamaze International and the Boston Association of Childbirth Educators. All of our instructors are certified in their area.

Our exercise and fitness classes are designed to accommodate various levels and abilities. Instructors are always able to suggest ways of adapting any class or workout to meet your individual needs. Please note you must pre-register to attend a class. You may also register for any class at any time during the session and the price of the class will be adjusted accordingly.

Class is a vinyasa-style yoga that is designed to meet the special needs of expectant and new mothers. This is an excellent class for all fitness levels, no experience necessary, and can be taken throughout pregnancy. Enjoy community of women, release tension, build awareness, confidence and energy with each practice. Please call the Childbirth Education Department to register at 617-243-6649.
This American Heart Association (AHA), HealthCare Provider CPR (BLS)course is for medical and allied health professionals. This class includes adult, child and infant CPR, as well as two-person CPR, ambu bag use and instruction in the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). Particpants will receive an American Heart Association certification card valid for two years.
Life with a new baby is exciting. This class will provide expectant parents with guidance, tips and support as they prepare for the birth of their child. Using doll models you will learn about infant bathing and dressing, feeding, infant communication, crying, sleep patterns, signs of illness, how to take a baby's temperature, when to call a physician and the needs and adjustments of becoming a family. Meets once. Cost is for expectant woman and her support person/partner.
This is the American Heart Association course CPR for Family and Friends (Infant and Child). Class will cover CPR for the infant from birth to 1 yr of age as well as CPR for the child up to 8 years of age. In addition to teaching CPR and choke-saving skills; this three-hour class will cover the following injury prevention topics: Childproofing your home, product, fire and water safety, home safety supplies, poison prevention, how to choose and use a car seat and toy safety. Whether you are a parent, grandparent, teacher or a babysitter, this single session will provide you with the vital skills that turn a life-threatening situation into a lifesaving one. You will receive the American Heart Association CPR booklet and a class packet.
