Whether you are expecting a baby for the first time or have other children, all parents have questions about birth and caring for their newborn. Childbirth Education classes give you the opportunity to become familiar with the choices you have and will help you make informed decisions about your labor, your birth and your baby.
Our childbirth classes follow the content and time guidelines recommended by Lamaze International and the Boston Association of Childbirth Educators. All of our instructors are certified in their area.

Our exercise and fitness classes are designed to accommodate various levels and abilities. Instructors are always able to suggest ways of adapting any class or workout to meet your individual needs. Please note you must pre-register to attend a class. You may also register for any class at any time during the session and the price of the class will be adjusted accordingly.

Non-aerobic routine of strength building exercises (standing & floor) using repetitions, resistance bands and hand weights. Pilates mat work and gentle stretching to strengthen the core muscles, tone and increase flexibility in the back and spine. Will also improve balance, breathing, energy level and posture. All levels welcome.
Seated class designed to for various fitness levels and abilities. Class format includes a thorough warm-up, strength training using hand weights, resistance bands and body weight, and gentle stretching exercises. Standing exercises may be incorporated, as appropriate.

The most gentle form of yoga for those with mobility limitations.
Aerobic class based on dance moves and includes arm and core strengthening exercises. Focus is on energy boost, improved heart function and stress reduction. For all ages and abilities, no dance experience required.
The HypnoBirthing® method, developed by Marie Mongan, is a comprehensive childbirth education class that emphasizes effective birthing techniques to enable you to work with the natural rhythms of your body, facilitating a more comfortable birthing experience and minimizing the need for interventions. This 12+ hour class teaches relaxation and self-hypnosis techniques to release the fear that causes tension and pain and to enhance the release of the body’s own natural anesthesia. Offered weekly or weekends. Includes text book and CD.
This is a 12 hour comprehensive class, which will help expectant parents through the stages of late pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum.Instructors discuss signs of labor, when to come to the hospital or birthing center, role of the support person and comfort measures such as breathing, relaxation, positions, massage, visualization, hydrotherapy, and anesthesia and analgesia. In addition, birth plans, what to expect if medical interventions are necessary, including induction of labor and cesarean delivery will be discussed. Other topics will be postpartum changes and a presentation on the newborn after delivery. A tour of the maternity unit is included. This is always a complete 12 hour childbirth class giving you the opportunity learn about labor and birth, discuss choices and concerns and meet others sharing this special time. Cost of class is for the expectant mom and her partner or labor support person.
A combination class designed to improve strength, flexibility and endurance. 20 minutes of stretch and abdominals, 20 minutes of cardio and 20 minutes of light weights. For all ages and abilities.
For beginners through advanced students. Balance your body and mind. Increase physical vitality and mental clarity. In each class you will breathe consciously, practice kriyas (moving combinations of postures) and relax deeply to integrate the benefits.The class will close with meditation which brings awareness, control of thoughts and reduces stress.
