Childbirth Education
Whether you are expecting a baby for the first time or have other children, all parents have questions about birth and caring for their newborn. Childbirth Education classes give you the opportunity to become familiar with the choices you have and will help you make informed decisions about your labor, your birth and your baby.

Our childbirth classes follow the content and time guidelines recommended by Lamaze International and the Boston Association of Childbirth Educators. All of our instructors are certified in their area.

Wellness Center
Our exercise and fitness classes are designed to accommodate various levels and abilities. Instructors are always able to suggest ways of adapting any class or workout to meet your individual needs. Please note you must pre-register to attend a class. You may also register for any class at any time during the session and the price of the class will be adjusted accordingly.

This is a complete comprehensive class, which will help expectant parents through the stages of late pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum.Instructors discuss signs of labor, when to come to the hospital or birthing center, role of the support person and comfort measures such as breathing, relaxation, positions, massage, visualization, hydrotherapy, and anesthesia and analgesia. In addition, birth plans, what to expect if medical interventions are necessary, including induction of labor and cesarean delivery will be discussed. Other topics will be postpartum changes and a pediatrician will do a presentation on the newborn after delivery. A tour of the maternity unit is included. This is always a complete 12 hour childbirth class giving you the opportunity learn about labor and birth, discuss choices and concerns and meet others sharing this special time. Cost of class is for the expectant mom and her partner or labor support person.

Pilates mat class with props to strengthen and tone the total body and adding flexibility exercises to help prevent injuries. All levels welcome. For more information or to register by phone, please call the Wellness Center at 617-243-6221.

This is an American Heart Association course is designed to teach 1st Aid Pediatric/Adult and CPR/AED. Appropriate for childcare providers, nannies, lifeguards and others who need to respond to illness, injuries and emergencies for infants, children and adults. First Aid topics covered are wounds, nosebleeds, fractures, poisons, drowning, insect bites, bandages, dressings, use of an epinephrine pen, shock, stroke, head injury and foreign body airway obstruction (choking). The CPR portion will cover CPR/AED for the Infant, Child and Adult. Participants will receive official certification from the American Heart Association in CPR and in First Aid (Pediatric/Adult), both are valid for two years. Zumba & Toning is great class whether you are starting a new exercise program or trying to rev up your current routine. Join this slower paced Zumba party taught by an experienced instructor. If you love rhythm (or even if you are a little rhythm challenged) this is the class for you. Zumba & toning fuses easy to follow moves with the focus on light cardio activity and muscle toning. The goal is simple: to work out, to love working out, and for you to find a program that you will want to stick with! For all ages and abilities, no dance experience required.

Life with a new baby is exciting. This class will provide expectant parents with guidance, tips and support as they prepare for the birth of their child. Using doll models you will learn about infant bathing and dressing, feeding, infant communication, crying, sleep patterns, signs of illness, how to take a baby's temperature, when to call a physician and the needs and adjustments of becoming a family. Meets once. Cost is for expectant woman and her support person/partner.
