Gala 2011 - Time is Now... to Focus on our Kids' Mental Health
Event to Benefit Child & Adolescent Mental Health Programs

ATTENDED AND SUPPORTED OUR 12TH ANNUAL GALA!
We had over 850 guests and announced that $3 Million has been raised for the hospital's Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service. A portion of these funds will be used immediately to expand the resources available with the remainder being used to set up endowments to support this program in perpetuity. More details on the event and photos to follow shortly.

This year, the event benefits an urgent need – the expansion of Newton-Wellesley Hospital's Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service.
The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service provides high quality psychiatric care; however, the demand for these services has grown far beyond our capacity. The Service currently includes three part-time child/adolescent psychiatrists whose hours are the equivalent of slightly more than one full-time psychiatrist. These highly skilled physicians see over 500 patients on an out-patient basis, provide coverage for over 400 children/adolescents per year in the Emergency Department, and treat patients admitted to the Pediatric Unit with complex psychiatric and medical needs. While these physicians strive daily to address the mental health needs of our youth, the amount of time they are available is woefully insufficient and must be increased.
The Need is Critical. . . The Time is Now
The first step is to add a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist on a full-time basis (or for as many days per week as funding will allow). This additional resource would shorten the 3 to 4 month wait for an initial evaluation and provide additional coverage in the Emergency Department.
Gala to Raise $700,000
The fundraising goal for the 2011 Gala is $700,000 – this amount will have an immediate impact on the program and allow for expansion of staff and treatment of our youth. A portion of the funds raised at the event will be used to make an immediate increase in services, and the remainder will establish an endowment to ensure the future funding of this critical service.
Chairs of the event are Ben and Wendy Fischman of Wellesley, and festivities will begin at 6:00 pm and will include cocktails and silent auction followed by a fabulous live auction, dinner, dancing, and a after-dinner "Fun and Games" Lounge outside the ballroom. Ticket Information
Tickets range from $600 to $1,000 per couple and tables range from $3,500 to $25,000. Deadline for inclusion in the Program Book is Friday, April 11, 2011 and our reservation deadline is Friday, April 29, 2011.

There will be a selection of fabulous items in our Silent Auction (during cocktails) and Live Auction (during dinner). Program Book Sponsorship Opportunities
In addition to purchasing table/tickets and/or donating auction items, you can also sponsor a Listing in the event's Program Book. With an expected attendance of 700-800 guests, you can be assured that your name or that of your organization will be seen by one of the largest fundraising event audiences in the Boston area.
