2008 "BEST PLACES TO WORK" AWARDED TO NEWTON-WELLESLEY

NEWTON, Mass. (June, 2008) – At a recent awards ceremony, the Boston Business Journal ranked Newton-Wellesley Hospital 15th out of the 20 companies named to the large company category. Newton-Wellesley was ranked 16th last year.

The Boston Business Journal recognized Newton-Wellesley's achievement in creating a positive work environment that attracts and retains employees though a combination of employee satisfaction, working conditions and organizational culture.

Some of the factors mentioned include onsite daycare, free parking, educational opportunities, loan forgiveness, employee recognition and the use of CareFirst standards.

These results are based on surveys of Newton-Wellesley employees. The surveys asked employees a series of questions about work environment, work-life balance, job satisfaction, advancement opportunities, management compensation and benefits.

This year's top ranking firms were chosen from 392 nominations, making it the largest program in the event's four-year history. The Hospital was profiled in a special supplement to the Boston Business Journal on June 13.
