MRI Services at Newton-Wellesley
The Radiology Department is pleased to announce that they will soon be the provider of MRI services at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. This spring, pending DPH approval, the Department will be taking over the services currently provided by Shields MRI and will be located in the same area. The Radiology Department will be working with Shields to ensure a smooth transition of services. The Radiology team is committed to providing superior MRI exams for patients and upholding the service and quality standards already in place within the Department. These standards include providing accurate results in benchmark time. The Radiology Department offers many benefits to physicians ordering MRI exams. Results from these studies will be integrated into the LMR and will continue to be available on the PACS system. Physicians will be able to schedule MRI tests through the Hospital’s Central Scheduling System, through the MRI office or via a scheduling pager for urgent and emergent cases. Urgent examinations will be accommodated at any hour and coverage for emergency procedures or consultations is provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Newton-Wellesley has made a Hospital-wide commitment to achieving the highest level of patient satisfaction. The MRI team is dedicated to providing high-quality care while offering the most advanced services for patients. The Radiology Department has a great reputation for quality and ease of access and will continue to uphold these standards in MRI. Our radiologists have extensive experience and expertise in the interpretation of MRI images. The radiologists at the Hospital have always been responsible for reading 80 percent of the MRI exams performed on campus. The qualified team of specialty medical professionals will continue to read and interpret each patient’s results in a timely manner. Jeffrey Greenberg, MD, Associate Chair of Radiology at NWH, has been appointed the Medical Director of MRI Services and Daniel Silverstone, MD, will be Assistant Medical Director of MRI. Additionally, numerous radiologists with a broad range of subspecialty expertise will support the service.
