The Newton-Wellesley Physician Hospital Organization (NWPHO) and Newton-Wellesley Hospital (NWH) have again been named to the Harvard Pilgrim Honor Roll for CY2009 in recognition of our outstanding commitment to high quality care.
To be eligible for the Physician Group Honor roll, NWPHO practices need to exceed the national 90th percentile HEDIS score on at least 9 out of 10 preventative and chronic care measures tracked for adult practices and 5 out of 6 preventative and chronic care measures for our pediatric practices. Both our adult and pediatric practices met this high standard of care and have received the Honor Roll status. Our adult and pediatric practices have been recognized by HPHC for this award in 4 out of the last 5 years. NWH was recognized for being an adult, acute care hospital whose performance was among the top 25% for clinical quality and patient experience measures. The quality and patient safety measures used to determine the honor roll include the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) Clinical Quality Measures, Leapfrog Patient Safety and HCAHPS – Patient’s Hospital Experience. NWH exceeded HPHC’s targets in all three measure categories. NWPHO and NWH are among a select group of Massachusetts Physician Groups and Hospitals to be so honored on such a consistent basis.
