As we hear about healthcare reform and worry about how it will impact us, we wish to press the pause button to announce the ongoing recognition we receive for clinical excellence in so many areas. Over the past several years, Newton-Wellesley has been, and continues to be, honored with numerous awards from HealthGrades.
HealthGrades is the most well known healthcare ratings company in the United States, providing ratings and profiles of hospitals, nursing homes and physicians to patients and consumers, corporations, health plans and hospitals. Many entities rely on HealthGrades' independent ratings, consulting and products to make healthcare decisions based on the quality and safety of care.
After extensive review of our services and patient satisfaction, Newton-Wellesley has just been awarded the:
- Outstanding Patient Experience Award for our superior patient satisfaction in 2009 and 2010. Hospitals receiving this distinction were in the top tier in patient experience based on satisfaction surveys.
- Patient Safety Excellence Award for 2009 which recognizes being in the top tier as calculated from several inpatient safety measures aggregated to produce an overall score.
The Hospital was also honored with the following awards based on ratings in the various service areas:
- Bariatric Surgery Care Excellence Award – 2008, 2009/10
- Gastrointestinal (Medical) Care Excellence Award – 2008, 2009
- Gastrointestinal Surgery Excellence Award – 2008, 2009
