Kimball Atwood, MD, Anesthesia, was one of 16 elected as Fellows of the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry for making major contributions to science and reason, critical inquiry and public education. All elected are notable figures in a wide variety of scientific and scholarly fields, prominent writers and investigators.
Hany Bedair, MD, has been awarded the 2010 British Traveling Fellowship from the Hip Society. Dr. Bedair will have the opportunity to travel in February and March to host institutions in the United Kingdom as part of his fellowship.
Lawrence Friedman, MD, Gastroenterology and Chair of the Department of Medicine, received the 2010 American Gastroenterological Association Distinguished Educator Award for his outstanding contributions and achievements as an outstanding educator over a lifelong career.
Keith Isaacson, MD, MIGS, recently traveled to Lagos, Nigeria to speak during a training workshop put together by Nordica Fertility Center. He identified small incision procedures such as hysteroscopy as the future of gynecology in Nigeria and the world at large.
Anne McCaffrey, MD, Internal Medicine, has been appointed Medical Director of the Marino Center beginning on January 4, 2010. She has worked at the Marino Center for the past six years serving as a primary care physician and preceptor for medical residents and Osher Center fellows. Over the past three years, she assumed a greater role in the research and education mission of the Marino Center.
