OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT SERVICES - Libby Jauvtis
Libby earned a Masters of Health Administration from Cornell University in May 2011. During her studies, Libby completed an administrative residency in the Weill Cornell Medical College Department of Neurological Surgery. There, she worked with clinicians, administrators, and national organizations to establish neurosurgery-specific outcome measurement in order to improve the quality of surgical care, as well as facilitate reimbursement with managed care companies. Libby’s course work and experiences motivated her to pursue the Operations Management fellowship, to develop the process improvement skills necessary to follow her ambition to make healthcare safer and more efficient.
While completing her BS in Policy Analysis and Management at Cornell University, Libby worked as a research assistant studying the effect of direct-to-consumer advertising of pharmaceutical products on health behaviors. She also interned as an outreach assistant for Cornell University Resource Education in Medicare Part D to improve the communication of health benefits to seniors across New York State. These experiences, coupled with involvement in her 99-year old grandmother’s healthcare, motivated her to pursue a career in health administration.
Libby is originally from nearby Lexington, MA. She enjoys doing hot yoga, learning the German language, and travelling to Switzerland to visit her nephew Myloh. She also spends her time with her “little sister” from the Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Boston. She is honored and excited to begin her career at Newton-Wellesley Hospital.
