Committed to providing our patients with the highest quality of care, Newton-Wellesley Hospital's Interpreter Services team provides accurate and complete interpretation services to patients and their families.
We work with a variety of patients including non-English speakers and deaf or hard of hearing individuals.
Our interpreters are available -- both in person at the hospital and by telephone -- depending on the patient's needs.
Interpreter Phone on a Pole
We offer portable speaker phones called IPOP (Interpreter Phone on a Pole) that are available in most inpatient and outpatient locations. IPOP units can be wheeled into a patient’s room and connected to an interpreter 24 hours a day.
We also offer access to Deaf Talk at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. It is a wireless video interpreting system that provides on-demand American Sign Language interpreters to our patients.
