Clinical Affiliations

The Rehabilitation Department at Newton Wellesley Hospital is committed to providing clinical education experiences for physical and occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology students. We provide experienced and proficient role models as clinical instructors as well as a supportive learning environment conducive to a strong clinical education.

We provide a variety clinical affiliations for students:

Physical Therapy Internship  1 year Full Time Interns split ½ day inpatient and ½ day outpatient services.  Intern research project/journal rounds 2 hrs/week dedicated to manual skills in lecture/lab format

Physical Therapy Full Time Clinical Affiliation  8, 10, 12 weeks  Inpatient and Outpatient Services

Physical Therapy Part Time Clinical Affiliation  ½ day, 1x/week

Northeastern Co-op Placement 6 months  Inpatient Physical Therapy

Occupational Therapy Full Time Clinical Affiliations  12 weeks  Level 2 Inpatient and Outpatient Services

Occupational Therapy Part Time Clinical Affiliations  Variable Time  Level 1

Speech-Language and Swallowing Full Time and Part Time Affiliations  Variable Observation Opportunities  16 weeks during the academic year 12 weeks for the summer Inpatient and Outpatient Services
