Image Service Center
The Image Service Center (Radiology Film Room) at Newton-Wellesley Hospital is responsible for maintaining, storing and retrieving patients' films and/or images that were completed at a Newton-Wellesley Imaging Site.
The Center uses an integrated Picture Archive Communication System (PACS) allowing the Department of Radiology to be filmless. This state-of-the-art-system stores images electronically as digital data, providing patients and physicians with less waiting times, faster examinations and no lost film.
The Image Service Center requires a minimum of 24 to 48 hours turn-around time for film and/or image copying. Film and image requests can be directed to the Center at 617-243-6071 (press #2).
Please remember that all film and image requests require an authorized signature prior to release. Also, any X-rays taken before July 2004 are stored as hard copy film because the PACS filmless system had not been implemented at that time.
The Department is staffed Monday through Friday from 6:30am to 9pm and Saturday and Sunday from 7am to 3:30pm. If you need more information on retrieving your images, please call 617-243-6071 (press #2) and a staff member will assist you.
