Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
Fall Parent Education Group: “How we parent when our child struggles?”
This six-session educational group, hosted by Richard D. Ginsburg, Ph.D., is available to parents of children ages 6-18 who are struggling with psychiatric issues or disorders.
The Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Newton-Wellesley Hospital has been treating children and adolescents with a broad range of emotional and behavioral difficulties for more than a decade. Our dedicated team of mental health specialists provides thorough evaluations and considers the many aspects of a child’s life that may be contributing to a problem.
- Anxiety (Separation Anxiety, Social Anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder)
- Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Autism-Spectrum Disorders (Autism, Asperger syndrome)
- Mood (Depression, Bipolar disorder)
- School-related Concerns
- Substance Abuse
Last year, more than 1,000 children and adolescents were treated for a mental health issue at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. In addition to treatment in our outpatient clinic, Newton-Wellesley offers specialized consultation to children in crisis in the Vinik Family Pediatric Emergency Room and in the Pediatric Inpatient Care Unit.
