Pediatric Cardiology

Pediatric cardiologists from MassGeneral Hospital for Children diagnose, manage, and treat infants, children, and adolescents born with heart defects and those with acquired heart disease. Services provided at Newton-Wellesley include outpatient and inpatient consultations, as well as pediatric and fetal echocardiography.

The service’s efforts to correct congenital cardiac defects as non-invasively as possible have made it a pioneer in the development of percutaneous transcatheter techniques. These techniques can be used to correct many types of defects, such as atrial septal defects or a patent arterial ductus arteriosus.

The service’s physicians work in close collaboration with pediatric cardiac surgeons.
