Insurance Coverage

An Important Note Regarding Insurance Coverage for Your Newborn
Congratulations on your pregnancy! Our Obstetrics staff looks forward to participating in your childbirth experience.

Newton-Wellesley Hospital will notify your insurance carrier upon the birth of your child but you will also need to contact them to add your newborn to your insurance. Please keep in mind that many insurance companies require you to contact them within 30 days of the birth to add your newborn to your health insurance. Missing this deadline could result in a denial of coverage.

It’s also a good idea to contact your insurance carrier to confirm your benefits before giving birth as coverage can vary, especially if you are going out-of-network. Going out-of-network may increase your financial responsibility. We recommend that you double-check that both your provider (physician/midwife) and the hospital are in your network.

If you have any questions please call us at 617-243-6824. And again, congratulations and thank you for choosing Newton-Wellesley Hospital.
