The two largest maternity services in Greater Boston, Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Newton-Wellesley Hospital, collaborate in offering Brigham and Women’s/Newton-Wellesley Obstetrics.
Based at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, Brigham and Women’s/Newton-Wellesley Obstetrics provides expectant parents many of the primary advantages of a major urban medical center within a convenient community setting.
Nearly 3,600 babies are born here each year, making Newton-Wellesley the seventh largest birthing center in Masachusetts and the second largest among community hospitals.
In addition to newly constructed, state-of-the-art inpatient maternity facilities, Brigham and Women’s/Newton-Wellesley Obstetrics includes a Special Care Nursery, and high-risk maternity services through the department’s Maternal Fetal Medicine program.
Specialists in high-risk pregnancy from Brigham and Women’s Hospital work on-site at Newton-Wellesley to provide ongoing evaluation and monitoring.
Genetic counseling is also available through the Maternal-Fetal Medicine service. Brigham and Women’s/Newton-Wellesley Obstetrics also includes uro-gynecologic services, and infertility care through Partner’s Reproductive Medicine Center at Newton-Wellesley.
