A Safe Haven for Your Baby

If you are not ready to be a parent or take care of your newborn, there are places called Safe Haven locations where you can take your baby to make sure they are safe. Newton-Wellesley Hospital is a Safe Haven location where you can legally surrender your newborn infant without facing criminal prosecution. 

All you have to do is bring your newborn, up to 7 days old, into the Emergency Department at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. As long as your baby is unharmed you will not get in trouble. Our goal is to ensure the safety of your infant.

Other hospitals, police stations and manned fire stations are Safe Haven locations where you can also drop off your newborn without facing criminal prosecution.
